Fine, water-resistant, 18 karat yellow gold wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers and a Heuer 18 karat yellow gold buckle.
Case: 18 karat yellow gold, two-body, polished and brushed, flat bezel, lapidated lugs, screwed-down case back. Original signed 18 karat yellow gold buckle signed Heuer
Dial: Two-tone silver with applied yellow gold faceted baton indexes and luminous dots, outer minutes and 1/5th seconds track, inner scale for conversion of time into 100 fractions per minute, subsidiary dials for the seconds, the 30-minute and 12-hour registers. Luminous yellow gold baton hands.
Movement: Cal. Lemania 1873, rhodium-plated, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, index regulator.
Condition: Dial is original and in mint condition without any sign of aging or stain. Hands are mint. Case has never been polished, has some light scratches throughout, back has light scratches with crisp hallmarks and signature. Watch has original buckle. Watch keeps time within /- 12 seconds per day.

The Heuer Carrera model derives its name from the famous and very dangerous Mexican "Carrera Panamericana" race that was started in the 1950s. It was considered the most dangerous race in the World and attracted many of the leading drivers of the time. The Argentinean driver Juan Manuel Fangio, five times Formula 1 World Champion, won the race in 1953.
As a tribute to this unique adventure, Heuer launched the Carrera chronograph wristwatch in 1963. The model with its distinctive look was an immediate success. Jack Heuer, CEO of the company, wanted a watch with excellent readability. The Carrera became a best seller for the company and was made in many different variations. The line was revived by Tag Heuer and the earliest models have now achieved iconic status.
